Tim Paulson

Tim Paulson grew up in a multicultural community. He is passionate about education, social justice, and worker’s rights. He has served in the Peace Corps and the Lutheran Volunteer Corps. Tim Paulson is President of the Davis Teachers Association; Chair of California Teacher’s Association’s Student Support Services Committee; and coordinator of Davis JUSD Unconscious Bias staff development project, and Davis community Public Engagement Project.

Tim is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist with Credentials in Social Studies, Counseling, and Psychology. His graduate degree is in Counseling from California State University Sacramento. He has worked in the fields of Drug and Alcohol Addiction, Gangs, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Education.

Tim’s work in Education started in the support services as a custodian; and bus driver. He became a Social Studies and PE teacher upon graduation. After graduate school Tim worked as a School counselor; Student Assistance Program coordinator; and School psychologist.

Tim’s involvement in the labor movement has been as local President, Chief Negotiator, community organizer, and member of the Ethnic Minority Affairs Committee for the Capitol Service Center. He is also a member of California Teachers Association State Council.  Tim received the California Teachers Association Human Rights Award in 2009.
